Choices

Over the course of a lifetime you will make choices. Some turn out just as planned. Others, not so much. He seemed like a nice guy. I just don't feel good about myself. I'll take the DDD cup.
So on and so forth. One of the most important choices you will make is the family dog. Has anyone ever showed you their dog and you say, "Ohhhh, it's so cute." In your mind you are thinking, "Good God, why would anyone pay money for a nasty little animal like that?" Do you want one to leave outside in a pen? Don't get one. To me that is like having kids and going back to work six weeks later. What's the point? Yeah I know, huff huff puff puff. Don't fall apart. It's just my opinion. How about a show dog? I guess that's okay. I want a pet that knows that it's okay to stink. One that doesn't take more time than I do to look fabulous. I look presentable on a good day. The obvious choice is a beagle. Handsome, loyal, fun to be with and will roll in anything that stinks. If you're out of meat and the in-laws are coming for dinner, no problem. A beagle will find you a nice fat rabbit. No matter how bad my day has been all I have to do is walk into my house and be greeted by Gina, Billy, and Brittney. Tails wagging, smiling faces, weird noises and an occasional squirt. Who wouldn't love that? You can get that from a Poodle but I'm almost certain it's not the same. A Saint Bernard will throw drool all over you. A Jack Russell won't stop moving for an hour after you come through the door. That's just because it's nutty. It has nothing to do with being happy to see you. The point is that it's all about making choices. The right choices. If you have a dog other than a Beagle all I can only tell you how sorry I am. So next time you want a good old fashioned family dog look no further than the Daisy Hill Puppy Farm. That's where Snoopy was born. Who didn't love Snoopy? Take a good look at your dog choice. If it makes you happy, great. If you think, "Damn, why didn't I get a Beagle?" Don't be too distraught. The day will come when you'll want to get another dog. This time you'll make the right choice. The ONLY choice. A beagle.
